Costilla County Business and Nonprofit COVID Relief Program
On September 21st 2021 the Costilla County Commissioners authorized the second round of the business and nonprofit COVID relief grant program.
The application deadline is Friday October 15th.
Businesses and organizations that received funding in the first round are not eligible for funding in this round.
The purpose of the program is to assist local businesses and organizations with additional incurred expenses and lost revenue resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic that started in March 2020.
The grant program is intended to assist businesses and nonprofits in the County that have experienced business interruption costs, unbudgeted expenses, lost revenue and other COVID-19 pandemic related expenses as allowed under the funding eligibility criteria set forth by the U.S. Treasury and the Colorado Office of Budget Management.
Funds for the grant are being provided by the Coronavirus Relief Fund as part of the CARES Act. Eligible expenses are those that have been incurred beginning March 1, 2020, for necessary expenditure due to the public health emergency with respect to COVID-19. Up to $25,000 will be available for this grant cycle.
Grants can only be awarded to replace lost revenue. Awards cannot exceed the amount of revenue lost due to the pandemic.
Applications must be submitted through the webform on the Costilla County website.
All expenses must have been incurred between March 1, 2020, and September 1, 2021, and have documentation and supporting information to substantiate the expense. The maximum funding for any application is $7,500. Applications will continue to be accepted until all available funds have been allocated.

Businesses that experienced a loss of revenue as a direct result of the pandemic may receive funding to assist in recovering lost revenue.
Eligible businesses must meet ALL requirements below:
Must be located within Costilla County
May be for-profit or not-for-profit.
Employ 100 or less.
Business has been in operation prior to April 1, 2020.
Must hold valid sales tax license(s) and be current on remittances.
